The WEGO Police urge everyone to use caution when using fireworks. If complaints are received and violations are found, the party responsible could be cited under the PA Fireworks Law, which includes the following restrictions:
- Consumer fireworks cannot be ignited or discharged on a public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
- Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
- Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building or at another person.
- Consumer fireworks cannot be discharged within 150 feet of an occupied structure, whether or not a person is actually present.
- Consumer fireworks or sparkling devices cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug.
