The first winter storm of the season is forecast to blow through Westtown beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing into late morning Thursday, and it could be a doozy. Total accumulation is currently projected to be 8-12″, and with temperatures hovering right around freezing, there will be the potential for icing as well.
We ask that you take appropriate precautions, including staying off the roadways until the storm is over and the roads are clear. In order for our plows to safely and efficiently clear your street, please do not park on the street, or deposit snow from your driveway into the roadway. You may also want to temporarily relocate decorative mailboxes to avoid damage from snow discharging off the plows. For detailed snow event information and the township’s mailbox policy, please visit the Roads & Public Works page of the Township website: https://westtownpa.org/roads-public-works/
Trash and recycling collection on Thursday has been rescheduled to Friday 12/18. Please do not place your receptacles in the roadway. Due to the ripple effect of Thursday trash and recycling cancellation, Saturday’s yard waste collection has been cancelled. The next yard waste collection, including Christmas trees is January, 9, 2021.
Stay warm and safe!
