The Zoning Hearing Board will convene to hear the variance application of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish:
The purpose of the hearing is to receive testimony, consider, and possibly act upon the Application of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish (Lessee) and Archdiocese of Philadelphia (Legal Owner). The Premises, the subject of this application, is a tract of land located at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Pleasant Grove Road, this Township with a Post Office address of 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road. The Premises is designated on the Tax Maps of the Assessor of Chester County as Tax Parcel 67-4-39. The Premises is used and occupied as a place of worship and school. There is presently extant on the Premises a free-standing ground sign fronting on Wilmington Pike. The Applicant desires to remove the existing sign and replace the same at its present location. The new sign will differ in dimensions, size and height, which constitutes a “significant alteration” as defined in section 170-1816.B(1) of the Zoning Ordinance and therefore it must comply with existing dimensional regulations. The Zoning Officer determined that the sign would be deficient in setback from Wilmington Pike and may exceed the maximum height limitations. Therefore the Applicant seeks dimension variances as applied to height and setback and any other relief that may be required or available to permit the construction, use and occupancy of the proposed sign at the location and in the configuration proposed.
