Event Information

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Hearing Board of Westtown Township will conduct 2 public hearings on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 commencing at 6:30 P.M. at the Stokes Assembly Hall at the Westtown Township Municipal Building, 1039 Wilmington Pike, this Township. The two hearings will be held sequentially and will not necessarily be called in the order set forth below. At the conclusion of the said public hearings, the Board will hold a public meeting at the same place to consider said applications and possibly act upon the either or both of them and may conduct such other business as may properly come before it.

Hearing # 2022-1 Application of Philip Longo: The purpose of the hearing is to receive evidence in reference to the application of Philip Longo, the legal and equitable owner of a tract of land known as 1546 Marlboro Road, this Township. The premises is identified on the maps of the Assessor of Chester County as Tax Parcel 67-3-93.  The premises is located in an area designated on the Zoning Map of Westtown Township as an R-2 Residential Zoning District.

There is presently extant upon the premises a single-family dwelling with as a garage and storage shed. The shed was constructed without first having obtained a permit therefor and in its present location is violative of the mandated side and rear yard setbacks.  The Applicant desires to maintain the shed in its present location and therefore seeks dimensional variance relief or such other relief as may be available to permit the maintenance, use and occupancy of the shed at its present location.

Hearing #2022-2 Application of Brian Munro: The Applicant is the legal and equitable owner of a tract of land known as 820 Serpentine Drive, this Township. The premises is identified on the maps of the Assessor of Chester County as Tax Parcel 67-6-9. The premises is located in an area designated on the Zoning Map of Westtown Township as an R-1 Residential Zoning District.

The Applicant desires to construct an extension of the existing dwelling located on the premise that if constructed as proposed would include a covered front porch, six feet deep and thirty feet wide and would result in an encroachment into the mandated front yard setback of 5.5 feet. The Applicant therefor seeks a dimensional variance or such other relief as may be required to permit the proposed porch at the location indicated.

The applications, together with plans and explanatory material is on file at the Westtown Township Municipal Building, 1039 Wilmington Pike, this Township, where the same may be reviewed without cost during normal business hours and where copies thereof may be obtained at cost of reproduction.

All persons interested may be present and give testimony if they so desire. Any person, who, by reason of disability, requires assistance in order to attend and participate in said meeting should contact the Township Manager by telephone, (610) 692-1930 during normal business hours.
