NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Zoning Hearing Board of Westtown Township will conduct a public hearing on Monday, July 11th, 2022, commencing at 6:30 P.M. at the Stokes Assembly Hall at the Westtown Township Municipal Building, 1039 Wilmington Pike, this Township. At the conclusion of the said public hearing, the Board will hold a public meeting at the same place to consider said application and possibly act upon the same and conduct such other business as may properly come before it.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive evidence in reference to the application of Lisa and Philip Fusco, legal and equitable owners of a tract of land known as 1500 Carter Place, this Township. The premises is identified on the maps of the Assessor of Chester County as Tax Parcel 67-2M-20. The premises is located in an area designated on the Zoning Map of Westtown Township as an R-1 Residential Zoning District.
There is presently extant on said tract of land a single family detached dwelling with accessory structures including an existing attached garage. The Applicants are desirous of enlarging the said garage and converting the same to an accessory dwelling unit (an ADU), a use permitted as a special exception and adding a new 3-car garage. The project as proposed will result in an encroachment of 2 feet three inches into the mandated front yard setback. The Applicants therefore seek the following relief: (i) a special exception to permit the construction, use and occupancy of an accessory dwelling unit on the premises (ii) a dimensional variance to permit the proposed encroachment into the mandated front yard setback and (iii) such other relief as may be required to permit the project as proposed.
The application, together with plans and explanatory material is on file at the Westtown Township Municipal Building, 1039 Wilmington Pike, this Township, where the same may be reviewed without cost during normal business hours and where copies thereof may be obtained at cost of reproduction.
